From One Snowy City to Another...

Steamboat, CO

We got back from our ski vacation a little over a week ago, and although we unpacked fairly efficiently, we were not in possession of all of our photos, thus, the delay in posting. This is one of my favorite shots, what I like to call the "cotton candy trees" since their powder-weighted branches look like giant cones of cotton candy treat. Here I am in action - I finally felt like I was in control by our third day, which was so fun, and such a relief. I actually started taking on some little jumps, I did some tree-skiing (= I skied around one tree), and I almost took out a bush! We had absolutely beautiful snow in Steamboat, and skiing down a mountain was something I've never done and feel truly privileged to have had the opportunity to experience. We have Doug's Mama to thank for such a lovely trip. It was so nice of her to invite us along on her yearly ski vacation. Usually, Jayna is the one in charge of keeping up my ski legs! (Spring Ski Trip, Jay? ..hint, hint)Heck, I'm usually a tropical vacation kind of gal (who knew?!), but we actually got to do two of my favorite warm destination activities: cocktails on the balcony - I think I may have gotten some sun :), and swimming - in the condo's heated pool & in the fabulous natural hot springs. Unfortunately, we don't have any pics from the hot springs as cameras were not allowed due to the "clothing optional" rule. Absolutely phenomenal.
